Billy Gaines Award

In the spring of 2004, The University of Pittsburgh’s head coach Walt Harris and his coaching staff started the Billy Gaines Award which would have been awarded at the annual spring game to the player who best captured Billy’s spirit of determination, perseverance and courage. But after just one season, new coach Dave Wannstedt came in and discontinued the award.

Blue & Gold Game - 2003
